About Brian Lokker

I have had a varied "right-brain / left-brain" career that has included working as a print designer, layout artist, book production editor, and copyeditor, as well as practicing law. I have "gone digital" in most aspects of my work since the late 1980s.

I am proficient in and use numerous design software applications including Macromedia (now Adobe) Dreamweaver® and Flash®, Adobe Photoshop®, and the other integrated design programs of the Adobe® Creative Suite. I also hand-code much of the XHTML and CSS with which my Websites are built.

Since the world of digital design never stands still, I am continually updating my knowledge and skills through seminars, courses, and independent learning. I am a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and of the International Webmasters Association, from which I hold Certificates in Web Technologies and Web Graphics and Multimedia. I am also certified by Brainbench in various Web-related and writing/editing areas.

My education includes academic and professional degrees from Duke University, The University of Michigan, and Rutgers University, as well as course work at New School University.

I am an adjunct instructor on the faculty of New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies, where I teach a course on Internet Copywriting and am an occasional guest lecturer in the Marketing Communications Writing course.

I admit to a passion for good coffee and have been known to suggest holding meetings at a local coffee shop.
